DNBRadio Appearances
The night following my last post, I played for the debut of my official show, Loose Threads & Heavy Beats. That one only lasted an hour. Just today, though, I played a three hour renegade set that seriously stirred shit up. Check out Teh Renegade. Hooray for the DNBRadio.com archive! :)
Edit: Removed some broken links.
DJ Thread Gets a DNBRadio.com Slot!
I finally decided that trying to work around everybody to play renegades was too annoying, so I requested a real time slot on the schedule. Roughly 24 hrs later, I’m on the official schedule for Loose Threads & Heavy Beats at 12:00am Wednesday’s … which is really more like Tuesday night. Until DJ Serpico returns for the immediately preceeding Decompression Sessions, though, I’ll be able to come on at 11:00 instead.
DJ Thread – Chillax II
I got such good feedback from my original Chillax mix that it seemed another one was a good idea. This time, we’ve put together another blend of different liquid type styles, but focusing on some real funky, beat driven tunes. I need to credit my girl Julie for supporting this effort. She helped me pick out some tracks and offered moral support. Yay!

Weighing in at 63:32, this one aims to f u’r sh_ up with some new material that I’ve recently acquired. The first part of it was played on dnbradio.com, but when the next scheduled dj (F|ood) came along, I had to cut the dnbradio appearance short. Luckily, though, I finished with a few listeners on the private stream with no interruption! Badass tunes for real… I highly recommend this one. Check it out on the torrents page.

So I just did another set … I think it was mostly pretty good, so I’ll release it. It measures about an hour and a half. See the Blog Torrent page.
DJ Thread – A Big Long One
So it was a lazy afternoon around the house. Colleen has moved out, Erin is home for a couple days, and Matt is at work now until he leaves to go home as well. I think I’m going to end up at a house a couple blocks over for tonight since there isn’t anything going on around here.
Here’s the first mix for the new year, and it’s pretty long at 163:45. Unfortunately, mixxx was being a bit fussy today, so there are a handful of spots where it breaks out for a few seconds. It’s a pretty nice mix otherwise, though.
Update: Damn, there are some really nice bits in this mix, but when Mixxx gets disconnected from jack, the interruption really sucks. I genuinely apologize, once again. :)
DJ Thread – Chillin w Rob
So my buddy Rob came over tonight, and he likes to listen to the DJ’d dnb. So I played on dnbradio for a while. Check the torrents area for the 85 minute set.
A Blog Update
Here’s a blog entry for the sake of making a blog entry. I dj’d on dnbradio for the um.. third time tonight. It was a pretty long set, but it wasn’t great. I guess it’s just as well cuz I didn’t record it. Also, it’s kind of hard to stab at your keyboard when you’ve rubbed off all your keys. Or I guess I more like scraped them off. But anyway, it looks really frickin cool, and I can work fine with it most of the time. Hehe.
In other news, I made some larger updates to the Hardcore Racing eStore this evening. Both the search and the browse functions have been enhanced. I’ve ditched the idea of using ajax for the browse feature. It really didn’t make much sense. Instead, I take you to a new page each time. (It doesn’t break the back button!)
But the real exciting part about what I’ve done is the caching. I’ve been able to cache bits of generated html that require lots of database interaction so that they can be just called up in subsequent requests—without the costly database query.
And it was damn easy… (stay tuned)
