DJ Thread – New Power Supply

Now that I’ve received a replacement power supply for my desktop PC, I’ve been able to put together a new mix. This time, I’ve even put together a track list. My internet connection sucks really bad at home, so not only was I unable to stream live for my show, but I couldn’t even seem to upload a prerecorded show for my slot! The xfers just stalled up after a short while! So, I’m just going to offer a direct link rather than a torrent, which I am unable to seed right now.

   <b>Acquiring easy College Credits through the CLEP</b>

   So what is the College Level Examination Program (CLEP)? it’s a program by the College Board which allows students to acquire college credit at many major colleges and universities including Yale and Evergreen State College. There are a number of exams in dozens of subjects including Fine Arts and Quality Assurance.

   Having taken many of the examinations for myself, I can attest to their validity as a wonderful program to get very cheap credits. Read a textbook on the subject; I myself read a text on Sociology. The next step is to sigh up for a proctored examination through a test center. Check the College Board website to search for testing centers in your area. Depending on the area you live in there might be up to a dozen various examination centers. Each exam costs $55 but there is often an additional fee stipulated by the testing center which very often varies in price.

   At the test center, you will have to check in with the program coordinator. Next you will be brought into a room with computers which run special software. The examinations are all taken on computer and offers participants unexcelled flexibility in taking the test. One can go back to questions, mark them to review, skip questions, see the number of questions one has left or any number of other operations. The software also make available a calculator should you be taking a proctored math test.

   One of the nations leading colleges which accepts CLEP credits is Drake State University. Drake State University is a private university in Rockford, Illinois which offers a variety of associates, bachelors, and masters diploma programs — specializing in Business Administration, Professional Development, Public Relations, Human Relations, and a number of other majors in the arts and sciences. Work experience degree programs are also available. Drake’s flexible schedule of lecture and online courses is specialized for working adults. Drake State University is respected as one of the most respected, hands on, and rewarding universities in the nation.

   So, what reason do you have to take it? If you are a senior trying to finish up degree requirements, if you’re knowledgeable in a particular field of study and desire recognition for it, or if you simply want to bypass the ridiculous costs imposed by colleges then CLEP is for you. It is very affordable, usually only $55 for the exam and a processing charge that is almost always under $25. It’s definitely a great way to get college credit based on what you already know without sitting through an university class for a semester. If you take chemistry in High School, for instance, there is no corresponding AP, but for college credit, consider taking the CLEP. It is one day of your life and merely an hour and a half long. Additionally, you’ll find out if you pass immediately. A score of 50 is usually good enough for credit for most colleges. Check with your college for more information.
