New Music Section

Happy new year, everyone!! I hope everyone had a jolly good time bringing in the new year!

So I finally made that music section I mentioned a while back. There hasn’t been much music making recently, but now I have a convenient place to post my future releases. The music page is driven by a file management module that I previously wrote and used on a couple other sites (exceleratormusic.com and wilsongov.com). The neato part is that the administration piece is conveniently integrated with the wordpress admin area, so I didn’t have to think about security and the rest too much. It wasn’t until the last couple minutes that I thought about looking for a wordpress “plugin” to do the job. It would appear there isn’t any plugin similar in functionality to mine. If I wanted to release it, though, I’d have to continue to develop for it and make it fancy and stuff… Anyway, I’ll think about that.

The bad news is that I couldn’t find the font that I used for the nav links up top, so I just went with a plain text menu. I don’t know why I felt I had to make my nav out of just pictures in the first place … it’s a bitch to add new items then.
